#485 - Xerophile
This is genre I've created called Xerophile, because I imagine the circles being plants that can only grow in the presence of very few adjacent shaded cells (one, to be exact).
Shade some cells to form a non-intersecting loop which does not touch itself orthogonally. Every cell which is orthogonally adjacent to exactly one shaded cell is marked with a circle.
Hi Eric, I've ported Xerophile into the kudamono paper puzzle editor, for easier editing and automatic error-checking. Puzzles 485/486 were included in the page too. Please let me know what you think!

Hi! I like the tool a lot and the implementations look great. I'm not comfortable with the puzzles from my blog being taken and republished though (I see six of my Square Jams as well...) Could you take those down please? Thanks!
DeleteHi Eric, thanks for your reply. I'm glad you like the tool and the implementations!
ReplyDeleteI've contacted you before regarding the Square Jam implementation (see a similar comment on puzzle #437 in February).
Given the puzzles are clearly identified as yours and link to your original pages, one by one, do you mind me asking if there's anything on the site that makes you less comfortable? Maybe that could be fixed.
In any case, your puzzles in the Xerophile, Square Jam and Ant Mill pages will be taken down, if that is your final decision. Are you sure?
Hi, yeah I understand that the proper credit and source is provided, but I still want to keep the puzzles I make for my blog exclusive to my blog (it's also just poor practice to republish people's creations without permission). Thank you!
DeletePerhaps it didn't come across this way, buy my comments on your blog should be read as my way of asking for your permission. Usually I contact authors by email or direct message, shortly after listing their puzzles on the page, so they can try their puzzles with the kudamono editor themselves.
DeleteWhile most people I've contacted have been happy to have their puzzles listed, your choice is also understandable. So your puzzles are no longer there.
