#444 - Country Road, Balance Loop, Disorderly Loop, & Midloop Mash-Up

Image
Here's another big loop genre mash-up!     Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells so that the rules of each genre are met.     Country Road (Top left):     Each Country Road region must be passed through exactly once.  A number in a region represents how many cells in the region are visited by the loop. Orthogonally adjacent cells in different Country Road regions may not both be unused.     Balance Loop (Top right):     The loop must pass through each circle.  The straight line segments coming out of a white circle must have equal length, while the straight line segments coming out of a black circle must have different lengths. A number in a circle represents the sum of the lengths of these two line segments.     Disorderly Loop (Bottom left):      Clued cells may not be used by the loop. Clues represent the lengths of the next N line segments appearing in t...

#430 - Canal View, LITS & Cross the Streams Mash-Up

Image
Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area.  No 2x2 area may be entirely shaded.     Canal View (Left and right):     Clues inside the grid cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded cells connected in a straight line horizontally or vertically to the clue.     LITS (Middle):    Each of the six regions in the middle part of the grid must contain one tetromino of shaded cells.  Two of these tetrominoes of the same shape may not share a bold border, counting rotations and reflections as the same.     Cross the Streams (Whole grid):      Clues outside the grid represent the lengths of the blocks of consecutive shaded cells in the corresponding row or column, in order. A question mark represents one block of an unknown number of cells. An asterisk represents any number of blocks of shaded cells, including none at all. Solve online

#285 - Triangular Triple Norinori, Hitori, Heyawake, Myopia, Uso-One, & Tapa Mash-Up

Image
Here's the puzzle I entered into Logic Showcase #25 (Ubniqu Tilings). The theme for this showcase was to use a non-square grid tiling.      Shade some groups of three edge-connected cells such that the remaining unshaded cells form one edge-connected area, and the following rules from each genre are satisfied in their respective sextants:      Norinori (Top left):      Each region must contain exactly three shaded cells. The grey cells are not part of a region and may contain any number of shaded cells.      Hitori (Top center):      No two cells containing the same letter which see each other in a straight line along any of the three axes may both be unshaded.      Heyawake (Top right):      Numbered regions must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. A straight line of consecutive unshaded cells along any of the three axes may not cross more than one bold...

#144 - LITS, Tapa, Canal View, & Irunuri Mash-Up

Image
Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area, no 2x2 region is entirely shaded, and the other rules of each genre are met:     LITS (Top left):     Each region must contain exactly four orthogonally connected cells, forming tetrominoes. Two tetrominoes of the same shape may not share a bold border, counting rotations and reflections as the same.     Tapa (Top right):      Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the lengths of the blocks of consecutive shaded cells in the (up to) eight cells surrounding the clue.     Canal View (Bottom left):      Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded cells connected in a straight line horizontally or vertically to the clue.     Irunuri (Bottom right):      Numbered regions must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. The shaded cells within a region m...

#133 - Masyu, Ovotovata, Yajilin, & Tapa-Like Loop Mash-Up

Image
Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells so that the rules of each genre are met.     Masyu (Top left):      The loop must pass through each circle. The loop must turn on black circles and travel straight through the cells on either side. The loop must go straight through white circles, and turn in at least one of the cells on either side.     Ovotovata (Top right):      The loop must visit each shaded region at least once. When the loop exits a clued region in any direction, it must travel in a straight line for exactly the indicated number of cells (turning on the Nth cell, where N is the value of the clue). A question mark can represent any positive integer.     Yajilin (Bottom left):      The loop may not pass through clued cells. No two empty cells within the bottom left quadrant may share an edge. Clues represent the number of empty cells in a strai...
