#304 - Look-Air

Image
Shade some cells so that each orthogonally connected area of shaded cells is in the shape of a square. Clues represent how many of the five cells forming a cross around the clue (including itself) are shaded. Two shaded squares of the same size may not have a vertical or horizontal line of unshaded cells between them, unobstructed. Solve online

#303 - Masyu / Look-Air Hybrid

Image
Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells that passes through every circle. The loop must turn on black circles and travel straight through the cells on either side. The loop must go straight through white circles, and turn in at least one of the cells on either side.  Each orthogonally connected area of cells not used by the loop must be in the shape of a square. Two unused squares of the same size may not have a vertical or horizontal line of used cells between them, unobstructed. Solve online

#302 - LITS (Double)

Image
Shade two tetrominoes of cells in each region so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. The two tetrominoes within a region may not touch orthogonally. Two tetrominoes of the same shape may not share a bold border, counting rotations and reflections as the same. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded. Solve online

#301 - 2x Mini Balance Loop

Image
Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells that passes through every circle. The straight line segments coming out of a white circle must have equal length, while the straight line segments coming out of a black circle must have different lengths. A clue in a circle represents the sum of the lengths of these two line segments. Solve online Solve online

#300 - My Original Genres

Image
For my 300th post, I've put together a collection of example puzzles for all of my original puzzle genres. As I create more in the future, this post will get updated. I hope you enjoy!     1.  Ovotovata  (oh-VOH-toh-VAH-tuh)      Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells which visits each shaded region at least once. When the loop exits a clued region in any direction, it must travel in a straight line for exactly the indicated number of cells (turning on the Nth cell, where N is the value of the clue). Solve online                                                    Solve online View solutions     2.  Aqre  (AY-kurr)      Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Regions with numbers must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. There may not exist a run of more than three consecutive shaded or unshaded cells horizontally or vertically anywhere in the grid. Solve online

#299 - Yajilin (Double)

Shade some dominoes so that no two shaded dominoes are orthogonally adjacent and draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of all the remaining empty cells. Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded dominoes that can be seen in a straight line in the indicated direction, partially or totally. Solve online

#298 - Masyu

Image
Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells that passes through every circle. The loop must turn on black circles and travel straight through the cells on either side. The loop must go straight through white circles, and turn in at least one of the cells on either side. Solve online

#296 - Slitherlink

Image
Connect some pairs of orthogonally adjacent dots to form a single non-intersecting loop. Clues represent the number of edges drawn surrounding the clue (up to four). Solve online

#295 - Heyawake

Image
Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Numbered regions must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. A line of consecutive unshaded cells may not cross more than one bold border. Solve online

#294 - Voxas

Image
Here's another new genre, my second one today! I'll probably make a bigger one later, but for now there's only a 6x6.      Divide the grid into 1x2 and 1x3 regions. Borders must separate two different regions. Borders with white dots separate regions with the same size and orientation. Borders with black dots separate regions with neither the same size nor the same orientation. Borders with grey dots separate regions with either the same size or the same orientation, but not both. Solve online

#293 - Pointer Loop

Image
This is the second puzzle of this new genre I made.      Divide the grid into dominoes and place a two-cell-long arrow in each one. The dominoes must all form a single continuous loop, where each domino’s arrow points to the next. Solve online

#292 - Pointer Loop

Here's another new genre from me! This one is creatively called Pointer Loop, because you create a loop with pointers.      Divide the grid into dominoes and place a two-cell-long arrow in each one. The dominoes must all form a single continuous loop, where each domino’s arrow points to the next. Solve online

#291 - Tapa (Transparent)

Image
Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues may or may not be shaded, and represent the sizes of the groups of orthogonally connected shaded cells in the (up to) 3x3 area surrounding the clue. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded. Solve online

#290 - Masyu (Yajilin)

Image
Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells that passes through every circle. The loop must turn on black circles and travel straight through the cells on either side. The loop must go straight through white circles, and turn in at least one of the cells on either side. No two unused cells may share an edge. Solve online

#289 - Kropki

Image
Place a number from 1 to N into each cell so that each row and column contains every number from that range with no repeats, where N is the side length of the grid. All pairs of orthogonally adjacent cells containing numbers with a 1:2 ratio are marked with a black dot. All pairs of orthogonally adjacent cells containing consecutive numbers are marked with a white dot. A 1 next to a 2 may be marked with either dot.
