#276 - Kurotto (Tapa)

Image
Shade some cells so that circled clues represent the total size of the orthogonally connected areas of shaded cells that share an edge with the clue and uncircled clues represent the lengths of the blocks of consecutive shaded cells in the (up to) eight cells surrounding the clue. Clued cells cannot be shaded. Solve online

#272 - Mini Fillomino Puzzle-Pack

Image
Here are the puzzles from a pack of nine small Fillominos I created. Enjoy!      Divide the grid into regions of orthogonally connected cells. Two regions of the same size may not share an edge. Clued cells must belong to a region containing the indicated number of cells. Solve online Solve online Solve online Solve online Solve online Solve online Solve online Solve online Solve online

#271 - Domino Shading Puzzle-Pack

Image
Here's a pack of five domino-shading puzzles that I made over the past few days. I hope you enjoy!     Norinori:      Shade some dominoes of cells so that every region contains exactly two shaded cells. Shaded dominoes may not touch orthogonally. Solve online     Norikabe:      Shade some dominoes of cells, dividing the grid into regions. Shaded dominoes may not touch orthogonally. Clues cannot be shaded, and every orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly one clue, the value of which represents the size of the area. Solve online     Double Yajisan-Kazusan:      Shade some dominoes of cells so that no two shaded dominoes are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. If a cell with a number in it is unshaded, the number represents how many shaded dominoes can be seen in a straight line in the indicated direction, partially or totally. If a cell with a number in it is shaded, the number is meaningless. Solve

#270 - Akari

Place lights in some cells so that every cell is illuminated. Lights illuminate the cell they’re in as well as all cells seen in a straight line horizontally or vertically, not obstructed by a black cell. Lights may not illuminate each other. Clues represent the number of lights in the (up to) four cells surrounding the clue. Solve online

#269 - Skyscrapers

Image
Place a number from 1 to N into each cell so that each row and column contains every number from that range with no repeats, where N is the side length of the grid. A clue outside the grid represents how many cells in the corresponding row or column contain a larger number than all cells before it in that row or column from the direction of the clue. #268 - Ring-Ring

Image
Draw rectangular loops through the centers of empty cells so that every empty cell gets used. The sides of different rectangles may intersect each other, but not turn at their intersection or otherwise overlap. Solve online

#267 - Kakuro / Kropki Hybrid

Image
Jeffrey Bardon / IHNN recently challenged me (in a sense) to create three variants or hybrids from his December 2020 daily streak, and I did it! Here's the third one, a hybrid between Kakuro and Kropki. His can be found here .      The first puzzle from this challenge was a  hybrid between Nurikabe and Araf , and the second was a  hybrid between Moon or Sun and Balance Loop .      Place a number from 1 to 9 into each empty cell so that no number is repeated in any unobstructed horizontal or vertical line. A clue on the bottom of a blocked cell represents the sum of the numbers in the vertical line below it. A clue on the right side of a blocked cell represents the sum of the numbers in the horizontal line to its right. Clues cannot see numbers through other blocked cells.  All pairs of orthogonally adjacent cells containing numbers with a 1:2 ratio are marked with a black dot. All pairs of orthogonally adjacent cells containing consecutive numbers are marked with a white dot

#266 - Moon or Sun / Balance Loop Hybrid

Image
Jeffrey Bardon / IHNN  recently challenged me (in a sense) to create three variants or hybrids from his December 2020 daily streak, and I did it! Here's the second one, a hybrid between Moon or Sun and Balance Loop. His can be found  here .      The first puzzle from this challenge was a  hybrid between Nurikabe and Araf , and the third was a  hybrid between Kakuro and Kropki .      Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells which passes through each region exactly once. Within a region, the loop must pass through all moons and no suns, or all suns and no moons. A region containing only suns or only moons must have its clues passed through. The loop may not pass through the same type of clue in two consecutively used regions.  The straight line segments coming out of a sun must have equal length, while the straight line segments coming out of a moon must have different lengths. Solve online

#265 - Nurikabe / Araf Hybrid

Image
Jeffrey Bardon / IHNN  recently challenged me (in a sense) to create three variants or hybrids from his December 2020 daily streak, and I did it! Here's the first one, a Nuraf. His can be found  here .     The second puzzle from this challenge was a  hybrid between Moon or Sun and Balance Loop , and the third was a  hybrid between Kakuro and Kropki .      Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues cannot be shaded. Every orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly two circles and has an area that lies between the two numbers in the circles, exclusive. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded. Solve online

#264 - Country Road

Image
Today I made four puzzles all beginning with the letter C, for no particular reason. Here's the fourth!      Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells which passes through each region exactly once. A number in a region represents how many cells in the region are visited by the loop. Orthogonally adjacent cells across a region border may not both be unused. Solve online

#263 - Compass

Image
Today I made four puzzles all beginning with the letter C, for no particular reason. Here's the third!      Divide the grid into regions of orthogonally connected cells, each containing exactly one compass. A number in a compass indicates how many cells belong to its region that are further in the indicated direction than the compass itself. Solve online

#262 - Combiblock

Image
Today I made four puzzles all beginning with the letter C, for no particular reason. Here's the second!      Combine pairs of orthogonally connected regions such that no pair forms a rectangle and no two orthogonally adjacent pairs are the same combined shape, counting rotations and reflections as the same. Solve online

#261 - Cave

Image
Today I made four puzzles all beginning with the letter C, for no particular reason. Here's the first!      Shade some cells so that the shaded cells are all connected orthogonally by other shaded cells to the edge of the grid, and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the total number of unshaded cells that can be seen in a straight line vertically or horizontally, including itself. Solve online

#260 - LITS (Different)

Image
Shade one tetromino of cells in each region so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Two tetrominoes of the same shape may not share a bold border, counting rotations and reflections as the same. There may not exist two tetrominoes of the same shape and orientation anywhere in the grid. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded.       Solve online

#259 - Statue Park

Image
Place each shape from the bank given outside the grid into the grid so that no two shapes share an edge and all unused cells form one orthogonally connected area. Rotating and reflecting shapes is allowed. Cells with black circles must be used by a shape, and cells with white circles must not be used by a shape. Solve online

#258 - View

Image
Place a number into some cells so that all cells with numbers form one orthogonally connected area. Numbers represent how many numberless cells are connected to them in a straight line horizontally or vertically. No two orthogonally adjacent cells may contain the same number. Solve online

#257 - Yajilin (Myopia)

Image
Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of all the remaining empty cells. Clues cannot be shaded, and contain arrows indicating all of the orthogonal directions in which a shaded cell appears closest to the clued cell. At least one shaded cell must appear in the direction of an arrow. Solve online

#256 - Statue Park (Half and Half)

Image
Place each shape from the bank given outside the grid into the grid so that no two shapes share an edge and all unused cells form one orthogonally connected area. Rotating and reflecting shapes is allowed. Cells with black circles must be used by a shape, and cells with white circles must not be used by a shape. Within a cage, exactly half of the cells must be used by shapes. Solve online

#255 - Akari (Regions)

Image
Place lights in some cells so that every cell is illuminated, and every region contains exactly one light. Lights illuminate the cell they’re in as well as all cells seen in a straight line horizontally or vertically, not obstructed by a black cell. Lights may not illuminate each other. Solve online

#254 - Nuribou

Image
Shade some cells so that each orthogonally connected area of shaded cells is in the shape of a one-wide rectangle. Rectangles of the same length may not touch diagonally. Clues cannot be shaded, and every orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly one clue, the value of which represents the size of the area. Solve online

#253 - Shakashaka

Image
Shade a right triangle in some empty cells, each of which occupies exactly half the cell it’s in. Each unshaded area must be rectangular in shape. A number in a cell represents how many of the (up to) four cells orthogonally adjacent to the clue contain triangles. Solve online
