Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. If a cell with a number in it is unshaded, the number represents how many shaded cells are in a straight line in the indicated direction. If a cell with a number in it is shaded, the number is meaningless. Solve online

#308 - Hexagony [Past Contest]

Image
Beginning on June 3rd 2021,  Jeffrey Bardon / IHNN  and I hosted a puzzle context titled Hexagony which lasted one week, consisting of 30 puzzles across 15 genres, each with one puzzle on a square grid and one on a hexagonal grid. Although the contest is now over, the puzzles can still be accessed and solved for fun! Instruction Booklet Puzzle Booklet Contest Results

#271 - Domino Shading Puzzle-Pack

Image
Here's a pack of five domino-shading puzzles that I made over the past few days. I hope you enjoy!     Norinori:      Shade some dominoes of cells so that every region contains exactly two shaded cells. Shaded dominoes may not touch orthogonally. Solve online     Norikabe:      Shade some dominoes of cells, dividing the grid into regions. Shaded dominoes may not touch orthogonally. Clues cannot be shaded, and every orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly one clue, the value of which represents the size of the area. Solve online     Double Yajisan-Kazusan:      Shade some dominoes of cells so that no two shaded dominoes are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. If a cell with a number in it is unshaded, the number represents how many shaded dominoes can be seen in a straight line in the indicated direction, partially or tot...

#225 - Five Mini Shading Puzzles

Image
Here are some 6x6 puzzles I made, all of which fall under the shading puzzle category!     Aqre:     Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Regions with numbers must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. There may not exist a run of more than three consecutive shaded or unshaded cells horizontally or vertically anywhere in the grid. Solve online     Cave:     Shade some cells so that the shaded cells are all connected orthogonally by other shaded cells to the edge of the grid, and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the total number of unshaded cells that can be seen in a straight line vertically or horizontally, including itself. Solve online     Kurotto:     Shade some cells so that clues represent the total size of the orthogonally connected areas of shaded cells that share an edge with the clue...

#221 - Yajisan-Kazusan (Double)

Image
This was one of three puzzles I entered into Logic Showcase #22 (Small Gifts). The theme was to make puzzles in grids of 36 cells or fewer.      This puzzle got second place in the contest, and I'm pretty sure this is an original variant as well!      My other entries:      Tapa (Transparent)      Grid Logic      Shade some dominoes of cells so that no two shaded dominoes are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. If a cell with a number in it is unshaded, the number represents how many shaded dominoes can be seen in a straight line in the indicated direction, partially or totally. If a cell with a number in it is shaded, the number is meaningless. Solve online
