#504 - Ring-Ring (Regions)

Image
Draw rectangular loops through the centers of some empty cells. The sides of different rectangles may intersect each other, but not turn at their intersection or otherwise overlap.  A number in a region represents how many cells in the region are visited by the loops. Solve online

#503 - Nuribou

Image
I'm finally getting around to posting some old puzzles. Here's a Nuribou with only even clues!        Shade some cells so that each orthogonally connected area of shaded cells is in the shape of a one-wide rectangle. Rectangles of the same length may not touch diagonally. Clues cannot be shaded, and every orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly one clue, the value of which represents the size of the area. Solve online

#502 - FiveCells

Image
I'm finally getting around to posting some old puzzles. Here's a FiveCells with only odd clues!        Divide the grid into regions of five orthogonally connected cells. Clued cells must have the indicated number of region borders or grid borders surrounding them. Solve online

#501 - Curve Data

Image
Draw lines between the centers of cells so that each connected figure goes through exactly one clue, and all cells are used by a figure. Clues show how their figures turn and connect with themselves, not allowing rotation or reflection, but do not indicate the lengths of the line segments. Solve online

#500 - Lollipops

Image
Fill some cells of the grid with a symbol of one of three types: a circle, a horizontal line, or a vertical line. Symbols must form pairs consisting of a circle and a line extending from it. These pairs may not exist orthogonally adjacent to one another. Two symbols of the same type may not exist in the same row or column with nothing between them. Solve online

#499 - Square Jam

Image
I find that the majority of Square Jam puzzles rely on 1s or on clues near the edges of the grid for the solving path to get started. This puzzle was a result of me exploring the idea of a puzzle which has none of those.        Divide the grid into square regions of orthogonally connected cells. A number indicates the side length of the square it’s in. Region borders may not form any four-way intersections. Solve online

#498 - Double Choco

Image
Divide the grid into regions of orthogonally connected cells, each containing a connected group of white cells and a connected group of grey cells, with the property that the shape of the white cells is identical to the shape of the grey cells, allowing rotations and reflections. Clued cells must belong to a region containing the indicated number of white cells and the indicated number of grey cells. Solve online

#497 - 2x Nurikabe

Image
Here are two Nurikabe puzzles with the same theme: Clues consisting of the numbers 1-8 once each.      Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues cannot be shaded, and every orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly one clue, the value of which represents the size of the area. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded. #496 - Star Battle (Clones)

Image
This puzzle was my last-minute entry to Logic Showcase #38 (My Favourite Star Battle Variant). I didn't enter expecting to receive a lot of votes, I just wanted to have entered something !      Place stars into some cells such that each row, column, and outlined region contains exactly N stars. The value of N is given outside the grid. Stars may not touch one another, not even diagonally. Stars must be in the same positions in corresponding shaded regions. Solve online

#495 - Ring-Ring

Image
Draw rectangular loops through the centers of empty cells so that every empty cell gets used. The sides of different rectangles may intersect each other, but not turn at their intersection or otherwise overlap. Solve online

#494 - Statue Park

Image
I'm back with another antisymmetric baby Statue park!      Place each shape from the bank given outside the grid into the grid so that no two shapes share an edge and all unused cells form one orthogonally connected area. Rotating and reflecting shapes is allowed. Cells with black circles must be used by a shape, and cells with white circles must not be used by a shape. Solve online

#493 - Nurimaze

Image
Shade some cells so that each region is either fully shaded or fully unshaded and all unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area with no loops. No 2x2 area may be entirely shaded or unshaded. Clues must be unshaded. All circles must lie on the shortest path from the S (start) to the G (goal), while triangles must not. Solve online

#492 - Canal View

Image
In celebration of Canal View being implemented in puzz.link, here's a themed puzzle!      Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded cells connected in a straight line horizontally or vertically to the clue. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded. Solve online

#491 - Yajilin (Myopia)

Image
Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of all the remaining empty cells. Clues cannot be shaded, and contain arrows indicating all of the orthogonal directions in which a shaded cell appears closest to the clued cell. At least one shaded cell must appear in the direction of an arrow. Solve online

#490 - Aqre

Image
Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Regions with numbers must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. There may not exist a run of more than three consecutive shaded or unshaded cells horizontally or vertically anywhere in the grid. Solve online

#489 - Pipelink

Image
Draw a loop through the centers of all cells. Two perpendicular line segments may intersect each other, but not turn at their intersection or otherwise overlap. A clue shows how the loop crosses through the cell it’s in. Solve online

#488 - Statue Park

Image
Place each shape from the bank given outside the grid into the grid so that no two shapes share an edge and all unused cells form one orthogonally connected area. Rotating and reflecting shapes is allowed. Cells with black circles must be used by a shape, and cells with white circles must not be used by a shape. Solve online

#487 - Ripple Effect

Image
Place a number into each cell so that each region contains the numbers from 1 to N with no repeats, where N is the number of cells in the region. Two instances of the same number in the same row or column must have at least as many cells between them as the value of the number. Solve online

#486 - Xerophile

Image
This is genre I've created called Xerophile, because I imagine the circles being plants that can only grow in the presence of very few adjacent shaded cells (one, to be exact).      Shade some cells to form a non-intersecting loop which does not touch itself orthogonally. Every cell which is orthogonally adjacent to exactly one shaded cell is marked with a circle. Solve online

#484 - Ant Mill

Image
Here's a new genre I've created! It's named "Ant Mill" after a phenomenon where an army of ants will lose track of where they were going and end up following each other in a circle, because I like to imagine the shaded dominoes as ants going around in a loop! :)      Shade some dominoes of cells. No two dominoes may touch orthogonally, but each domino must touch exactly two others by the corners such that all dominoes form a single loop. Cells separated by a square must both be shaded or both be unshaded. Cells separated by an X must not. Solve online

#468 - Nanro

Image
This might be the easiest puzzle on my blog to date :)        Place a number into some cells so that all cells with numbers form one orthogonally connected area. Each region must contain at least one numbered cell, and every number in the region must be equal to how many numbered cells the region contains. Two cells containing the same number may not share a region border. No 2x2 region may be entirely numbered. Solve online

#467 - Star Battle / Double Back Hybrid

Image
This idea for a hybrid is something I wasn't sure would be possible at all, but it actually wasn't all that difficult to construct and I'm very satisfied with the result.      Place stars into some cells such that each row, column, and outlined region contains exactly two stars. Stars may not touch one another, not even diagonally. Additionally, d raw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of all empty cells which passes through each region exactly twice. Solve online

#466 - Look-Air / Square Jam Hybrid

Image
Divide the grid into square regions of orthogonally connected cells and s hade some cells so that each region is either fully shaded or fully unshaded.  Region borders may not form any four-way intersections.  Clues represent how many of the five cells forming a cross around the clue (including itself) are shaded. Two shaded squares may not be orthogonally adjacent. Two shaded squares of the same size may not have a vertical or horizontal line of unshaded cells between them, unobstructed. Solve online

#465 - TomTom

Image
Place a number from 1 to N into each cell so that each row and column contains every number from that range with no repeats, where N is the side length of the grid. A clue represents the value obtained by applying an operation iteratively on the numbers in the region the clue is in. If no operation is given, it may be any of +, -, ×, or ÷. Subtraction and division in regions with more than two numbers are handled by taking the largest number and subtracting/dividing all the others. Solve online
